Description

GAL K-complex + D3, 500 mcg K-complex + 4000 IU D3 x 60 doses

Why is it beneficial to supplement vitamin D3 and vitamin K together?

Vitamin D3 is undoubtedly one of the most important vitamins that everyone should supplement to stay healthy. Low levels of vitamin D are one of the main causes of most common diseases, yet many people suffer from a lack of it. However, its low cost and ease of consumption make it an easy problem to solve.

One of the most important properties of vitamin K is its ability to activate proteins that are responsible for ensuring that calcium is incorporated where it is needed (bones and teeth) rather than where it is harmful (soft tissues, kidneys and blood vessels).

As vitamin D3 also enhances calcium absorption, it is important that our intake of vitamin K is also optimal to ensure that calcium is getting to the right places. Fat-soluble vitamins A, D3 and K work synergistically to enhance each other's positive effects, and if all three vitamins are consumed in the right amounts and in the right form, they should not be overdosed.

Another cause of vitamin D deficiency is poor kidney function. From Károly Mester's lectures and experience, we know that if the kidneys are not functioning properly, the body cannot produce active vitamin D hormone from vitamin D and it cannot be used properly. To help this process Herbafulvo products can be a good choice.

Who is GAL K-complex + D3 recommended for?

GAL K-Complex + D3 is recommended for those who want to supplement their vitamin K needs with vitamin D3 from a single product.

Dosage

12 drops daily, either by dropping directly into the mouth or mixed with food. Best taken with the first meal of the day. Do not mix into liquids.

Optimal vitamin D3 and vitamin K intake has numerous benefits:

  • Helps the immune system to function properly: Optimal levels of vitamin D3 help the body to better protect itself against and speed up the course of flu and other respiratory infections.
  • Improves the condition of teeth: The combined action of vitamins K, A and D3 can help prevent tooth decay and cavities, but can also help to eliminate small holes in the dentin layer. Taken from an early age, it ensures regular and healthy tooth development.
  • Strengthens bones: Vitamins K and D3 are both important for the development of strong, healthy, flexible bone structure and help prevent osteoporosis.
  • Alleviates diabetes: It is also effective in preventing and alleviating both type I and type II diabetes.
  • Protects the cardiovascular system: Vitamin D3 can reduce the risk of stroke, metabolic syndrome, and heart attack, as well as providing general protection against cardiovascular disease. Vitamin K1 prevents (and has been observed to reverse) cardiovascular calcification, as well as other soft tissue and organ calcifications
  • It can help prevent the development of autoimmune diseases: Vitamin D3 supports the immune system, so it can be effective against various autoimmune processes
  • Effects on the nervous system: Vitamin D3 may help to alleviate and prevent autism, schizophrenia, epilepsy and Parkinson's disease.
  • Reduces symptoms of depression: Vitamin D3 can relieve and prevent depression, which is not surprising as sun exposure is known to have this effect, partly due to its effect of increasing vitamin D3 levels.
  • Boosts fertility: Vitamin D3 boosts fertility in both men and women, and also increases testosterone levels in men. It is also effective in endometriosis, PCOS, pre-eclampsia, and reduces insulin resistance during pregnancy and the risk of premature birth.
  • Increases vitamin K3 levels: High doses of vitamin K1 significantly increase the production of vitamin K3 in the body. Current studies suggest that vitamin K3 shows promise in the treatment of cancer, while its supplementation reduces the incidence of some cancers.

Calcium can be dangerous in vitamin K deficiency

In the absence of vitamin K, high calcium intake can be particularly harmful. If our intake of vitamin D3 and vitamin K is adequate, a fraction of the calcium intake considered healthy will provide us with enough calcium, which our body is much better able to use. The calcium intake of today's hunter-gatherers seems dangerously low, yet they have the strongest bones even in old age, thanks to their adequate intake of vitamins K and D3.

With adequate intakes of vitamins D3, A and K1, neither a calcium-rich diet nor excessive amounts of vitamin D3 can do any harm, but their positive effects are greatly enhanced. It has been shown that it is impossible to overdose vitamin K, excess intake is simply not utilised, but excessive intake of vitamin K2 (especially from industrially produced meat products) can upset the K1/K2 ratio in tissues.

The discovery of the secret Activator-X

In the first half of the 20th century, there lived a famous dentist, Dr Weston Price, who was chairman of the American Dental Association's research department for a decade and a half. He was a religious man and could not understand how God could have created teeth so imperfect that they would erupt in childhood and leave us with decayed teeth as adults.

So he travelled the world, studying many groups of people who had very healthy teeth. He noticed that in many places, even the oldest people had perfectly healthy teeth, even though they had never even been brushed. He also noticed that the teeth of those who consumed a lot of butter made from the milk of animals grazing on alfalfa or other grasses high in vitamin K1 were remarkably healthy.

He eventually discovered that the diets of the hunter-gatherer peoples he had observed, who had good teeth, and the butter made from the milk of cows grazing on grass with high vitamin K content, contained a substance responsible for their good teeth. At the time, he could not identify it precisely, so he named it "Activator-X" and started investigating the Activator-X content of different butters. Eventually, he created a butter extract rich in this substance, which he began to use in his practice, and gave it to twins and siblings from birth, where one received it and the other did not.

Those who received it developed a rounder, more symmetrical face and a nice, neat set of teeth. The other group often developed a more elongated, less symmetrical facial structure and often needed orthodontic treatment. And in his practice, he noticed that with this butter extract he was able to treat the children's cavities with 6 months of treatment without drilling. In these cases, a new layer of dentin formed and the caries disappeared. He published his results and comparative photographs of the twin pairs in Nutrition and Physical Degeneration.

Since then, this mysterious Activator-X has been identified and has been shown to be nothing more than vitamins K1, K2, A and D3 combined. It was so much of it in the butter extract he made.

Why is the presence of vitamin K1 in GAL K-complex + D3 important?

For our body, tissues and cells, only the K1 and K2 MK-4 forms are useful, but any vitamin K we consume is converted to a significant proportion of vitamin K3 and then K2 MK-4. Thousands of years ago there were no foods - and even a few decades ago, only very few - that contained vitamin K2, but our sources of vitamin K1 have always been plentiful. Our ancestors and modern natural peoples have a high intake of vitamin K1 (mainly from algae, vegetables and seeds), while they have virtually no direct access to vitamin K2; yet their vitamin K2 supply is perfect, as vitamin K1 is readily converted to K3 and then K2 to MK-4. This is particularly true when vitamin D3 supply is adequate, along with vitamin A, magnesium and vitamin B6.

Vitamin K1 can therefore be converted into K2, but not vice versa. For this reason, unilateral intake of vitamin K2 alone in higher amounts will displace K1 over time, upsetting the natural and ideal vitamin K ratio in our tissues. Maintaining this is of paramount importance, as our different organs have their own specific vitamin K ratios (e.g. the heart prefers K1, while the brain prefers K2).

Several studies have shown that vitamin K1 increased the vitamin K2 levels of all tissues to the same or greater extent than vitamin K2 itself, and only K1 was able to do this while maintaining the ideal tissue ratio. Vitamin K1 has so far been shown to be more effective than K2.

So why does the product contain vitamin K2?

The only reason for this is that the bioaccumulation of vitamin K2 in the MK-7 form, i.e. the accumulation of the vitamin in the body, is three times more efficient than vitamin K1, so less of it is needed.

This is also important because the EU maximum daily amount is 1000 mcg of vitamin K, but higher tissue levels of vitamin K can be achieved by replacing part of the 1000 mcg from K1 to MK-7. This step maximises the efficiency of vitamin K intake due to better accumulation of vitamin K2.

Bridging the K2 cis/trans problem

Apart from MK-4, MK-7 or other forms, there are two forms of vitamin K2: cis and trans. Only the trans form is found in nature and it is the effective one. The cis form of K2 is neither natural nor effective, and it is even thought to increase vitamin K2 deficiency.

Unfortunately, most K2 feedstocks do not have a good cis/trans ratio and the worse the ratio, the cheaper the feedstock. As a result, more and more ineffective (or even harmful) vitamin K2 products are appearing, at ever lower prices. Only K2 MK-7 that contains up to 5% cis isomers (with a minimum of 95% trans) is adequate.

We use in our product a raw material with the best cis/trans ratio in the world (cis below 1%, trans above 99%), free from soy and other allergens, and the only K2 MK-7 produced completely chemical-free, by fermentation alone.
